Bio
Republican Dennis Hollingsworth was elected to the California State Senate in 2002. He represents California’s 36th Senate District. His current four-year term ends in 2010 and he will not be able to run again for the California Senate because of the state’s term limits.
Hollingsworth became the Senate Minority leader on February 18, 2009, when David Cogdill was voted out of the leadership position by Senate Republicans who were unhappy over Cogdill’s position on the 2009 California state budget compromise. Prior to joining the state senate, Hollingsworth was a member of the California State Assembly from 2000-2002.
