Bio

Democrat Alan Lowenthal was first elected to the California State Senate in November 2004. He represents California’s 27th Senate District. When his current term ends in 2012, he will not be able to run again for the state senate because of California’s term limits. Prior to joining the state senate, Lowenthal served in the California State Assembly from 1998-2004 and as a member of the Long Beach City Council from 1992-1998.
